Scientific platforms
The University of Turin's Scientific Platforms represent an innovative model for connecting the academic world with the needs of the local community and industry. These thematic networks bring together researchers, laboratories, and multidisciplinary expertise on strategic topics for regional and national development.
The Universityof Turin's Scientific Platforms bring together over 500 researchers, offering specialized access to vertical and non-generalist expertise to address complex challenges through multidisciplinary approaches. The Scientific Platforms focus on priority themes aligned with the regional Smart Specialization Strategy (S3), Piedmont's key industrial sectors, and the European pillars of innovation, bridging scientific research and concrete applications for the for the region and industry.
The Scientific Platforms adopt an innovative model that transforms the complexity and disciplinary diversity of theUniversity of Turin into a strategic advantage. This approach creates unique points of contact for specific topics, facilitating the matching of knowledge supply and demand. These platforms create opportunities for collaboration between research and business, enabling scientific discoveries to be translated into practical solutions for the local community. The true strength of this model lies in its ability to activate synergies between different academic skills, transcending traditional disciplinary boundaries to address our society's most complex challenges in an integrated manner.
